Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and commitment to increasing South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) services during an engagement while using the company's senior supervisors in a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric exams.
Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for that National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% of the registered pupils in the instruction sector.
These learners attained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the investment national government is producing within the life of poor and susceptible children is yielding a beneficial influence in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.
